National Tikkun Olam Steering Group

The Canadian Reform Jewish movement is deeply committed to Tikkun Olam – to helping the disadvantaged, fighting discrimination in all its forms, caring for our world and creating a more just and caring society. The National Tikkun Olam Steering Group, under the umbrella of the Canadian Council for Reform Judaism (CCRJ), has been established to support our efforts locally, regionally and nationally.

To help identify the most pressing issues in our communities and to explore how the CCRJ can best support Tikkun Olam initiatives both locally and nationally, please join us in a virtual Tikkun Olam Town Hall, on Sunday, August 23, from 11:00 AM PT to 12:30 PM PT/ 2:00 PM ET to 3:30 PM ET.

To register for the Tikkun Town Hall, please click here. We look forward to seeing you virtually on August 23rd!

COVID-19 Letter to Parliament

CCRJ and the Tikkun Olam Steering Committee, along with the Reform Rabbis of Canada, sent a letter regarding COVID-19 to all Members of Parliament expressing support for the measures taken thus far to help Canadians through this crisis, and highlighting the need to keep our most vulnerable neighbours at the centre of efforts moving forward.

Canadian Reform Judaism Statement on Systemic Racism

The Reform Rabbis of Canada, the CCRJ National Tikkun Olam Steering Committee and the CCRJ issued a statement on June 3, 2020, making a call for a Reform Jewish response to the racism that led to the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis.
